Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit

About the Position

Job Opportunity – Progressive Care / Telemetry RN – Ohio

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts per week; weekend coverage required; may float to other units as needed; 24 hours of orientation provided

Highlights:

• Progressive Care Surgical Step-Down unit specializing in post-surgical overflow and general medicine patients
• Patient ratios maintained at 3-4:1 for Progressive Care with all attempts to keep at 3:1
• Epic EMR system experience required
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV Teams, Respiratory Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Pharmacy
• Must pass telemetry test and demonstrate competency in monitoring telemetry patients
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses including bariatric surgery, colorectal surgery, and general medicine

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Valid RN license (Compact or Ohio state license in hand at time of submission)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Telemetry monitoring experience with ability to pass telemetry competency test
• Core nursing skills required: IV starts and maintenance, blood draws, lab interpretation, medication administration, patient education
• Additional skills: blood product administration, central line and PICC line management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin and heparin protocols, titration of insulin drips, wound care, surgical drain management, PCA pumps, oxygen administration
• Nursing education from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
• Two professional references required: at least one from manager/director or formal leadership; Charge RN acceptable for second reference

• Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed immediately upon contract signing
• Candidates within driving distance of Ohio must travel to in-state fingerprinting location as soon as possible after booking
• Pre-approved time off must be requested at time of submission and built into contract
• Former employees must have been away from the facility for 6+ months to be eligible
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
