About the Position

Job Opportunity – Critical Care Float Pool RN – Ohio

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts | 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (36 hours/week) - Weekend Day Friday/Saturday + 1 weekday shift. Contract must extend through January 2, 2027.

Highlights:

• Float to a variety of critical care units including Neuro ICU, CVICU, SICU, MICU, and Cardiology/Diagnostics based on patient acuity and staffing needs
• Work with diverse patient populations including transplant patients (kidney, liver, lung, heart) and complex critical care cases
• EPIC charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• Weekend-focused schedule with flexibility built in for work-life balance
• Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity to match your skill level
• Multiple parking options available including shuttle services from remote lots

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required
• Valid RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (NIHSS is a hard stop requirement)
• EPIC charting proficiency required
• IV start, telemetry, and ventilator management experience required
• Experience with arterial line management, central line care, blood product administration, and critical care medications
• Ability to manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership)
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)

Please note that this position requires completion of Ohio fingerprinting requirements immediately upon contract signing. Strict compliance deadlines apply (Tuesday prior to start date). Candidates must be responsive and cooperative with the credentialing process to avoid delays or cancellation. Former employees must have been away from the organization for 6 months or more to be eligible. Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers.
