About the Position

Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week. Every other or third weekend required. Floating to other units within the facility system as needed.

Highlights:

• Specialized PCU experience with diverse surgical and acute patient populations including burns, plastic/reconstructive surgery, urology, GYN, ENT, and oral/maxillofacial cases
• Opportunity to perform specialized procedures including burn dressings, flap checks, and leech therapy
• Adult and geriatric patient population in a progressive care environment
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• First-time travelers accepted; candidates with one year of experience will be individually reviewed by management
• 13-week assignment with opportunity for professional growth in a specialized progressive care setting

Requirements:

• Valid RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit, Step-Down, IMC, or DOU experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring (both on-unit and remote monitoring), IV therapy, central and peripheral line management
• Experience with arterial lines, blood product administration, wound care, feeding tube management, IV insulin and heparin protocols, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• 2 professional references required: at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role; charge RN acceptable for second reference
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

• Ohio fingerprinting must be completed immediately upon contract signing – this is a strict requirement with no exceptions
• Candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location as soon as possible after booking
• Strict compliance deadline of the Tuesday prior to start date
• Responsive and cooperative engagement with credentialing team is required to avoid assignment delays
• Former employees must have been away from this facility system for 6 months or more to be eligible
• Current employees of this facility system are not eligible for travel assignments at any location within the organization
